A pearl of Russian nature - Lake Seliger is a fancy lace of big and small lakes. Here an amazing city Ostashkov is situated, which history begins in 1371. On the opposite side of the city, on Stolobniy Island there is a working male monastery - the Nile - Stolobenskiy Hermitage, which was established by a Novgorod hermit, settled on a deserted island in 1528. In former times the Nile Hermitage in terms of the number of pilgrims ranked second in the world after tomb of the Lord in Jerusalem. 

The modern exposure of the Ostashkov Museum of Local History demonstrates to its guests various traditions of trades and crafts of Seliger region and also acquaints them with historical traditions of Ostashkov.

Headspring of the river Volga, a fairy house - chapel with a roof of four ramps and a well. The Russian Patriarch sanctified the headspring in 1995.
